Michael Sergi received his Doctorate from the University of Technology, Sydney. After graduating from Curtin University with a faculty award Michael undertook the fulltime directing course at AFTRS, and since then has directed over 100 hours of television drama in Australia and New Zealand, including Home & Away, Neighbours, Pacific Drive, Breakers andShortland Street.

Michael has produced, written and directed many short films, documentaries, TV commercials and music videos, and also co-wrote and produced the feature film 10 Days to Die. He co-founded the Canberra International Film Festival; was its artistic director for 13 years and was the ACT representative of the Australian Directors Guild for many years. He has also been a judge for the Australia Directors Guild Awards and the TV WEEK Logie Awards.
