Erin currently teaches Journalism, Media, and Communications at the University of Tasmania, and has previously lectured at the University of Notre Dame and tutored at Murdoch University. She received her PhD from Murdoch University in 2011 for her thesis investigating the adaptation of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein in popular cinema of the digital age.
Erin is now pursuing her research interest in digital animation, special effects, and the posthuman. She is also passionate about scholarly work in areas including fantastic media culture; science fiction and the supernatural in popular film and television; fandom and digital media; and the relationship between technology, media, and embodiment.
